Schedule

TYPICAL DAY

1. Pre-round: see the patient, note the vitals and significant labs, talk to nurse about overnight events, follow-up patient goals

2. Morning rounds: breakfast rounds in cafeteria @ 8am. Be prepared to give brief presentation, significant pre-round findings, and PM patient goals.

3. ICU/Intern report: Mondays from 9-10 AM in 3rd floor conference room. Wednesdays from 9-10 AM in medical education. No presentation responsibility.

4. Teaching rounds/Cardiology rounds: M,T,R, & F from 11 AM to 12 PM. Location TBA. Expect to present new admissions. Bring teaching points.

5. Noon conference: everyday 12-1 PM

6. Work rounds/Education: expect to finish work by 5 PM daily.

7. Sign-out rounds: update paper sign-out and round with call team before leaving.

CALL/POST-CALL DAY

1. Admissions: Expected to admit 1-2 patients every call day with a FULL H&P. Expect to present H&P on post-call day. Discuss work-up and management of patient before leaving. 

a. New Admission H&P: full H&P with problem list (not by system) with differential diagnosis and references.

b. Admission orders: expect hand written admit orders on day of admission.
